Voted as the best cowboy tribute event in the nation by the American Cowboy Magazine, the National Day of the American Cowboy event in Fort Worth is a free, family-friendly event that takes place annually to recognize the history and heritage of cowboys and cowgirls in the Wild West. A day full of entertainment, this event will go beyond a lick and a promise with plenty of activities, authentic reenactments and a genuine cowboy parade!
The National Day of the American Cowboy is a local tradition that brings the cowboy legacy to life. A family-friendly day of excitement, you can expect to see various old-western traditions and contests including a cow-chip throwing contest, watermelon eating, gunfight shows and a Riscky's BBQ Rib Eating Contest. Other events include cowboy karaoke, buckaroo coloring and seed-splitting. Plus, a cowboy celebration parade begins at 11:30 a.m. with horses, cowboys and plenty of authentic western accents.
Running from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, the National Day of the American Cowboy in Fort Worth is an all-day celebration that will take place on the street of Stockyards Station. Celebrating western roots and the cowboys and cowgirls that had a part in our history, this event is just another way to show Texas pride while enjoying the company of fellow community members.
