Are you looking for a family outing that’s fun, healthy and wild at the same time? Well, here’s your chance. On Saturday, April 2nd, you can break a sweat by running off some of your excess energy at the Fort Worth Zoo! All you have to do is lace up your shoes and get ready to hit pavement in the 1K, 5K Fun Run or timed 5K. And while you walk, gallop or run, you’ll enjoy serene scenery as you make your way through the Zoo’s main pathway and surrounding neighborhood.
The fun doesn’t end there, though. That’s because this year, you and your group can take part in the first-ever costume competition. Show off your wild style by dressing up as your favorite zoo animal!
Maybe you and your posse want to dress up like a bunch of birds who flock together! Or maybe something a little more daring like a cheetah who is ready to pounce its way toward winning an award. Whatever you decide, just remember that this is a family-friendly event, so let’s keep it classy!
After your workout, runners can feast on fantastic food, sip on delicious drinks and take part in plenty of awesome activities, like a live animal presentation and an awards ceremony.
The event supports wildlife conservation and education initiatives both locally and on a global scale. Visit the Fort Worth Zoo’s official website for more information.
