Ah, the feeling of ice cold air hitting your face during a steaming hot day is priceless! That’s why we should all remember to consider the health of our car’s air conditioner. Not only is having a healthy AC system important for you and your passenger's comfort, but it’s also essential when it comes to your health. Keep reading to learn how you can easily keep your vehicle’s AC system in tip-top shape.

Run the System

No matter if it is winter, spring, summer or fall, you should always try to run your car’s air conditioner for a few minutes at least once a week. This ensures that the various hoses, valves and pumps throughout the system are kept well-lubricated.

In addition, you’ll also want to run your defroster from time to time. This helps remove excessive moisture and prevents mildew, which can cause foul odors inside your vehicle.

Pay Attention to Your AC

Does your air conditioner continuously blow out cold air? If yes, then you’re good to go. If no, then you’ll want to have your AC fully serviced, which we recommend having done once a year.

You’ll also want to monitor how long it takes for your AC to kick in. Does it take a long time to cool down? If so, it could mean a variety of things, one of them being a leak in one of the hoses. But don’t sweat it, just bring your vehicle to us and we’ll take care of it in no time.

Refrigerant Level Checks

Whenever you bring your car into our onsite service center for maintenance, remember to ask one of our service technicians to check the refrigerant level on your system if you feel like there might be an AC issue. This will help ensure that your levels are up to par, which will help you stay cool and comfy with every mile.
