What's New for the 2018 Honda Accord?

The Accord has been reworked, revised and redesigned. A list of awards speak for the car. Honda Accords have earned the 2018 Consumer Guide Best Buy designation and the Most Wanted Award from Edmunds. Earning one of the most coveted prizes, it was named 2018 North American Car of the Year by a panel of 60 judges at the Detroit Auto Show. Last but not least, it earned a spot on the Cars and Magazine 10 Best list.

Push button start, a multi-angle rearview camera, and dual-zone climate controls are hallmarks of the Accord LX. The Sport has a 12-way power-adjusting driver's chair. EX models add the largest touchscreen, a blind spot monitor and a one-touch power moonroof. The Accord EX-L trims its seats in leather and adds a 450-watt audio system to surround you with sound. Leather-clad Accord Touring editions have ventilated front seats. Every Accord has an audio display screen. Large eight-inch touchscreen include Android Auto and Apple Carplay, must-have features for today's tech lovers. Adding knobs and buttons, Honda has simplified the screen's functions. HomeLink Assist is the latest generation of the celebrated connected car tech. Furthermore, only Honda is using Near Field Communication sensors to achieve phone pairing. A helpful wireless charger and WiFi connectivity are on the menu. All of this technology helped the sedan earn Best Auto Tech Award from Kelley Blue Book and ExtremeTech Best Car of 2018. The cabin achieves a luxury-level quiet with its acoustic glass and extensive insulation.

2018 Honda Accord Horsepower

2018 Honda Accord FrontThe biggest news in performance is the Honda Accord's ten-speed automatic transmission. This segment-first feature is a precision instrument designed to help the driver enjoy time behind the wheel. The paired powertrain is a 250-horsepower turbo. Cranking out a high rate of torque, it matches V6 power and maintains fuel efficiency. If you go for the Sport V6, you can choose a manual transmission and make your own shifting decisions. The standard turbo is extremely fuel efficient as well. This four-cylinder engine manages to crank out 192 horsepower and 192 lb.-ft. of torque. A new suspension and variable ratio steering respond to the driver's command with more accuracy. Touring editions boast an adaptive damper system for the ultimate in ride quality and driver responsiveness.

Honda Accord Safety

2018 Honda Accord SideHonda is the only affordable automaker to offer road departure mitigation. The system can slow or help steer the car to prevent the Accord from ending up on the shoulder or in a ditch. Likewise, it has a lane departure system that regulates the car's trajectory within its marked lane lines. A third Honda Sensing system is the forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking. Standard adaptive cruise control can make decisions before the driver is forced to respond. This allows the ACC to drive more smoothly, slowing and going with traffic. To prevent a common cause of side swipes, there's an available blind spot monitor and a rear cross traffic alert. The Accord has passed all of its crash testing from both the National Highway Traffic Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

With so many awards on its shelf, it should be clear that the 2018 Honda Accord will work hard to earn its spot in your garage. Take a test drive at Honda of Fort Worth.
