What's New For the 2020 Honda Pilot

The ability to arrange people and merchandise in any number of configurations inside while bestowing obstacle-straddling high clearance outside are what make crossovers so popular. Still, it's not of much use if it's not bundled in a reliable vehicle like the 2020 Honda Pilot. Honda achieves this level of quality by adding improvements at a steady pace. For 2020, this means taking a solid design and adding a new model, the Pilot Black Edition, to the lineup. Just take a look at the results.

2020 Honda Pilot has an Abundance of Modern Features

With the introduction of the Black Edition, the 2020 Honda Pilot now comes in 6 models including the LX, EX, EX-L, Touring, and Elite editions. For an introductory model, the LX forgot its modesty by offering power windows and locks, air conditioning, 7 speakers for music, a USB port, a 12-volt outlet, and a 5-inch touchscreen. The EX controls things like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto through an 8-inch touchscreen while giving passengers 3 zones of climate bliss and an additional 12-volt connection near the rear hatch.

The EX-L tops this by covering the seats in leather, adding 2 extra USB ports, and putting a moonroof overhead. The Touring edition entertains commuters with 10 speakers powered by 590 watts and supplies a 115-volt outlet while the Pilot Elite provides wireless charging and a panoramic moonroof. Very similar to the Elite edition in accessories, the Black Edition offers an exclusive black exterior finish balanced by black interior leather trim and red ambient lighting.

How Much Power does the Honda Pilot Have?

2020 Honda PilotA crossover outfitted with 3 seating rows needs 280 horses to carry it down the road with ease and agility. The direct fuel-injected 3.5-liter V6 under the 2020 Pilot's hood does just that. With 262 lb-ft of torque, it also maintains its tenacity at even low speeds. When choosing the LX, EX, and EX-L models, this block is partnered with a 6-speed automatic transmission for 19 mpg city and 27 mpg highway. The Touring, Elite, and Black Edition models come with a 9-speed automatic transmission that provides 20 mpg city and 27 mpg highway. There's also the option of an all-wheel-drive that shaves just a little efficiency off these numbers.

Which Safety Features are Available on the 2020 Honda Pilot?

This sound build is bolstered by features like airbags, traction and stability control, a rearview camera, anti lock brakes, and tire pressure monitoring. Honda really goes the distance, though, with the Honda Sensing package that warns of frontal collisions and applies the brakes if needed, warns if the vehicle veers from its lane, and takes corrective action to put it back on course. With the EX trim and higher, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is also incorporated.
