The miles on your car may seem to keep piling on with no sign of letting up. But, no need to fret. Thanks to these four simple steps, proper care for your Honda can truly be a breeze.
Step 1: Follow the Honda Maintenance Schedule
While many service centers follow the Honda Maintenance Schedule (like the service center at Honda of Fort Worth), it is important that you keep track of your maintenance schedule for your particular model so that your car will remain in pristine condition. Following the maintenance schedule does not only extend your car's life, but, it also prevents unnecessary wear and tear and helps your car run as efficiently and smoothly as possible.
Step 2: Check Fluid and Tire Pressure
In what may take 10-15 minutes tops, you can effectively keep up with how your Honda is running. Simply check the oil dipstick, the radiator overflow reservoir, the brake cylinder reservoir, the power steering fluid level, and hoses and belts for signs of wear and tear. Performing these checks at least once a month is just another step on the road to a healthier vehicle.
Step 3: Wait a Moment After Starting Your Vehicle
If your car has been sitting for a few hours, the engine may be cold. It has been shown that waiting at least 30 seconds before driving may actually allow all of the moving parts to receive adequate amounts of oil. What seems like a simple change may actually contribute to a longer vehicle life.
Step 4: Listen for Odd Noises
A little self explanatory but definitely worth doing. The odd noises may mean something is wrong - a sign that you may need to bring your vehicle into our authorized Honda service center.
While these four steps may not solve all of the issues related to car aging, they are sure to get you on the right track when it comes to caring for your vehicle.
