Honda Plans On Going All Electric

Honda plans to be all-electric by 2030 for vehicles made in China. This will include 10 new Honda brand models in the China region. They are focusing on 100 percent electric Sales overall by 2040.

Electric Sales

This strategy focuses on using Hydrogen Fuel Cell sales. So, essentially there are two tiers when it comes to the approach to shift to all-electric cars. One of them focuses on China, and the other appears to focus on all of their cars in all locations generally. For BEVs specifically, Honda has their Honda E for Europe.

These vehicles will include the e N series in China, such as the e:NS1 and the e:NP1. As of most recently, there's not a lot of information on what exactly is going to happen in terms of Honda phasing out non-electric cars.

The First BEV

The first BEV for the U.S. will be the Honda Prologue, as it already has one in Europe. It's going with the GM Ultium electric platform, like many other companies that GM owns. In order to try to meet its goal of going all-electric by 2040, Honda is focusing on fuel cell hydrogen technology. Honda is focusing on ramping up production on the way to that goal.

It plans to have 70,000 Evs in the United States by 2024. The goal is to have 500,000 by 2030. Honda is doing its best to catch up to the amount of focus on EV production that many of its rivals have already achieved. It's likely that many companies will not sell too many ICE or internal combustion engine options by 2025.

However, it does appear that Honda is focusing more on its market in China when it comes to Evs than it is on the market it has in the United States. As a result, there will likely be fewer Evs from Honda here than elsewhere, including not just China but Europe as well.
