The 2021 Honda Clarity doesn't get many changes in comparison to last year's model. The Clarity discontinued the battery-powered version in 2020, leaving the Fuel Cell and Plug-In Hybrid as the two available versions. Both have different powertrains but the same exterior appearance and many of the same interior amenities. The latest Clarity has a comfortable cabin with plenty of space. It also has an exceptionally quiet and composed ride, especially for highway driving. 2021 Clarity Trims & Features
The 2021 Honda Clarity is available in three trim levels. There are two trims available for the hybrid and one for the fuel cell model. The Plug-In Hybrid comes with a base trim and a Touring trim. The base trim has an eight-inch infotainment system. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard features. Even with the base trim, you can expect to have heated seats and a range of safety tools housed in Honda's Sensing Suite package. With the Touring trim, the Clarity adds a few more luxuries and creature comforts such as factory-installed navigation and leather seats.
The Fuel Cell comes in one trim level. It has a combination of the features that are included on both plug-in hybrid trims. The Fuel Cell has heated seats as well. Leather seats are standard. You'll get the same infotainment system on the Fuel Cell, along with the same Honda Sensing safety package. A difference with the Fuel Cell is the sound system, which has 12 speakers.
2021 Honda Clarity Horsepower
The Plug-In and Fuel Cell vary in mechanical configuration. The engine powering the Plug-In is a 1.5L with four cylinders. This engine's peak output is 212 HP, and its maximum torque is 232 LB-FT. There is also a 17-kWh battery attached to the engine to provide hybrid-electric power. The battery provides approximately 50 miles of range. With the Fuel Cell, you'll get hydrogen tanks and an electric motor that produces about 175 HP combined.
