2021 Honda Pilot

What's New For the 2021 Honda Pilot?

The most significant change for the Honda Pilot in 2021 is the introduction of the Special Edition trim. Additionally, the 9-speed automatic transmission is standard on all Pilot trims, and the base LX trim gets dual-zone automatic climate control.

2021 Pilot Trims & Features

The 2021 Honda Pilot is offered in seven trims: LX, EX, EX-L, Special Edition (SE), Touring, Elite and Black Edition. Spacious and adult-friendly, the Pilot provides three rows of seats. The LX, EX, EX-L, and Special Edition can seat up to eight people due to the second-row bench-style seat. Only the Elite has a pair of captain's chairs in the second row, reducing the maximum capacity to seven. You have a choice between the seven-seater and eight-seater with the Touring.

Push-button engine start, Bluetooth, a seven-speaker stereo system, a USB charging-only port, a USB data port and an audio jack, and a 5-inch color LCD screen are standard. For a major boost, you can go with the EX, which introduces heated front seats, driver-side power, tri-zone automatic climate control, an 8-inch color touchscreen, CabinControl to turn your smartphone into a remote control, hands-free text messaging, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, and a trial subscription to SiriusXM Radio.

The EX-L steps you into luxury territory with leather seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, driver-side memory, remote engine start, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror with a garage-door opener. Comfort and convenience are amplified on the Touring, which includes second-row heating, a rear-entertainment system, a Wi-Fi hotspot, an in-car PA system, a navigation system, and a 10-speaker stereo system in place of the seven-speaker setup. Only the Elite gets front-seat ventilation and perforated leather seat trim. Notably, the Special Edition and Elite have wireless phone charging ability.

2021 Honda Pilot Horsepower

All models of the 2021 Pilot are equipped with a 3.5-liter V6. This engine outputs a power of 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. For a consistent drive, it is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission with front-wheel drive as standard, and optional all-wheel drive on all trims except the Elite and Black Edition models. These models offer all-wheel drive as standard instead.

Honda Pilot Safety

The 2021 Pilot is well-equipped with the Honda Sensing suite of driver-assistance technologies, which include collision mitigation braking system, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, forward collision warning, and lane departure warning. Also included are automatic high beams and a multi-angle rearview camera. Six airbags protect occupants if there's a crash. If you go with any trim above the EX, Honda adds a blind-spot information system with a cross-traffic monitor.
