Honda Warranty

To provide peace of mind and added satisfaction when you buy a new Honda, your vehicle comes with multiple factory warranties. These warranties cover everything from the seat belts to hybrid batteries if you have a hybrid car. The powertrain, engine, emissions, and other major components are also protected through Honda's new vehicle warranties.

New Vehicle Limited Warranty

For three years or 36,000 miles, whichever is first, Honda equips its new cars with a New Vehicle Limited Warranty. This warranty covers the parts in a new Honda's mechanical system, including a hybrid battery if you drive a hybrid. It also covers all other major original equipment components in the car that break under normal usage or have defects.

Federal and California Warranties

New Honda vehicles are also equipped with emissions warranties. Honda sells its new cars nationwide with a Federal Emissions Warranty. Vehicles sold and operated in California are covered through a separate warranty called the California Emissions Warranty. The California Emissions Warranty also applies to Honda vehicles sold in states that abide by California's emissions standards.

Powertrain Limited Warranty

For up to five years or 60,000 miles, the Powertrain Limited Warranty provides coverage to replace or repair parts in your Honda's powertrain system that are defective, to begin with, or break while the car is used in normal operating conditions. The Powertrain Limited Warranty applies to gasoline-powered and hybrid Honda cars.

Hybrid Warranty

Honda's Hybrid Powertrain Warranty covers components specifically in hybrid powertrains. Coverage includes batteries and Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) systems. The Hybrid Warranty is added on in addition to the Powertrain Limited Warranty.

Rust Perforation Warranty

The Rust Perforation Warranty from Honda covers the cost of repairing or replacing body panels on the side of your car that develops rust or corrosion that starts in the interior. Coverage will last for five years total, and there is no maximum mileage limit.

Seat Belt Limited Warranty

New Hondas are also equipped with a Seat Belt Limited Warranty. This warranty covers your car for 150,000 miles or 15 years. Coverage includes replacing seat belts that fail to work correctly.

Honda MPP Plans

In addition to the array of standard factory warranties that it has for new vehicles, Honda has additional protection plans that you can get for your car that provide coverage beyond the scope of the factory warranties. These plans, called MPP plans, provide lease wear coverage, GAP coverage, service contracts, and extended warranties for older Honda cars.
