Full-time and part-time modes are available when you have the four-wheel design. You have the option of choosing between high ranges and low ranges as you sit in the driver's seat. You can do this with the use of a lever or electronic switch. If you need as much traction as possible, you can put it on the low setting. The high setting works well for surfaces like gravel, snow, and sand to ensure your car stays planted on the road while it's in motion.
