How Often Should I Service My Honda CR-V?
All vehicles need to have some maintenance throughout their lifetime to ensure they last as long as possible. Regular maintenance also keeps your Honda's parts operating at total capacity. Since specific services need to be performed on your Honda at certain times, you must follow the exact Honda CR-V maintenance schedule that comes with your car. These Honda CR-V service intervals are located in the owner's manual for convenience. When your Honda is due for service, contact a skilled Honda technician to inspect your car and perform all the necessary services required.
15,000-Mile Service
The first of several Honda CR-V service intervals takes place at 15,000 miles. Your Honda will have periodic service until it reaches 90,000 miles. During the first service checkup, your vehicle won't need too many changes. The car will be due for its second oil change at 15,000 miles, following the first one required at 7,500 miles. The condition of the tires gets checked too, and the tires may be rotated.
30,000-Mile Service
When your car gets to 30,000 miles, the engine oil gets changed again, and the tires may be rotated again. The brakes are inspected for visible wear, and the brake fluid levels are inspected. The parking brake also gets evaluated and adjusted if needed. A Honda mechanic inspects the brake hoses and lines at 30,000 miles and checks the suspension components on your car.
60,000-Mile Service
At 60,000 miles, the steering gearbox gets an inspection, along with the boots and tie rods. The engine oil filter and cabin filter will be replaced, and your mechanic will look at the car's fluids and fluid levels. The battery is inspected at 60,000 miles, and your SUV will have its spark plugs checked for wear.
90,000-Mile Service
Your Honda CR-V will need another service appointment at 90,000 miles. At this point, the drive belts are checked and adjusted. The air cleaner element and spark plugs are both checked to see if they need replacement. All primary fluids will be rechecked, including transmission fluid and engine oil. The power steering fluid also gets checked and flushed at 90,000 miles. Your Honda may also need to have its timing belt replaced. The oil will be changed, and your vehicle may also get an alignment and have the tires rotated. A mechanic will perform a general multi-point inspection as well.
If your Honda CR-V is approaching its next service milestone, contact our service department to schedule an appointment.
