Honda is gearing up to unleash a hot new hatchback: the all-new 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback. Joining the 2016 Civic Sedan and Civic Coupe, this five-door modern marvel will be the third new Civic variant, and it’s expected to be better than ever.
Featuring a sporty, modern design, the Civic Hatchback is sure to turn heads. Starting under the hood, it will offer drivers a much more sportier feel than previous models, thanks to its all-new 1.5-liter turbocharged powerplant that will be mated to either a CVT or a 6-speed manual.
On the outside, the Honda hatchback offers stop-traffic good looks. Modern creases and swept-back body lines flow along the side of the compact car, eventually leading into the unique C-shaped LED rear lights. At the back, the bumper embodies dynamic creases and vents, which only add to the car’s upscale and sporty design.
"We knew that we needed to create a striking and stand-out exterior design that challenged conventional European compact styling, while staying true to the original Civic's core values," said Daisuke Tsutamori, chief exterior stylist for the 2017 Civic Hatchback Prototype. "This vehicle represents a marriage of distinctive and sporty design, rewarding driving dynamics and versatile practicality."
The bigger wheels exude elegance, while the lengthy wheelbase, small overhangs and upscale cabin area continue to add to the dynamic appearance of the car’s outer shell. Up front, a short overhang with oversized air intakes create an aggressive look and feel.
