The 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid is back and better than ever. Sporting several enhancements, including better fuel efficiency, this hot Honda is sure to be a game-changer for the hybrid car market.

Offered in three trims, base, EX-L and Touring, one of the most notable upgrades to the vehicle is its new hybrid system that enhances miles per gallon, making it the leader in the midsize hybrid sedan market for best fuel economy.

Even with the newly enacted and more stringent U.S. EPA ratings, the car achieves EPA-estimated ratings of 49 mpg combined, 47 mpg city and 48 mpg hwy - numbers that are made possible by the vehicle’s 2.0-liter i-VTEC Atkinson Cycle engine. The new Accord gains 16 horsepower from its previous model to achieve a total output of 212 horsepower, the highest of any midsize hybrid sedan.

On the outside, the 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid gets updated bumper styling, as well as a new front fascia that features new standard LED fog lights. There’s also new “Hybrid” badging and blue accents can be found on the front grill, headlights and taillights. The interior gets plenty of new high-tech features too, including a brand-new 7-inch touchscreen display (EX-L and Touring), an expanded SiriusXM Radio app (EX-L), and standard remote engine start.

Honda has made safety a top priority in the new hybrid by outfitting it with its Honda Sensing package as standard. It includes Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Road Departure Mitigation, Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning and Collision Mitigation Braking technologies.

Additionally, the Accord Hybrid uses Honda’s next-generation Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure, which is better able to absorb and disperse the energy from a head-on collision, along with new high-strength door rings designed to improve passenger protection.
